What do Broadcom's VMware licensing changes mean for us?

Perpetual licenses were discontinued in favor of subscription bundles, and many smaller customers saw significant renewal increases. Whether to absorb it, restructure the bundle, or migrate to Hyper-V, Proxmox, or public cloud depends on your workload profile. We build the cost comparison before your renewal date, not after.

How do you migrate without downtime?

Most workloads migrate live with vMotion or with replication and a short cutover window. Genuinely zero-downtime is achievable for clustered applications; for everything else we schedule a brief, tested window rather than promising magic.

Do we still need physical servers?

Yes, virtualization consolidates workloads onto fewer physical hosts rather than eliminating them. Sizing those hosts correctly — CPU, memory, and storage headroom for failure scenarios — is most of the design work.
