The problem

Most networks that cause problems weren't designed — they accumulated. A switch added here, a VLAN bolted on there, until nobody can say with confidence what talks to what.

That flat, undocumented network is what turns a single compromised workstation into a company-wide outage, and it is why performance problems take days to isolate instead of minutes.

Network Design: common questions

How long does a network redesign take?

A typical single-site redesign runs four to eight weeks from assessment to cutover. Multi-site rollouts depend on circuit lead times, which are frequently the longest pole in the tent in Wyoming. We phase cutovers so there is no single high-risk night.

Do we have to replace all our hardware?

Usually not. We start with an assessment of what you own, and reuse anything still under support that fits the design. Replacement recommendations come with the reasoning — end of support, insufficient throughput, or a feature gap — not a blanket refresh.

Can you work with our existing IT staff?

Yes, and it's the arrangement we prefer. We design and implement, your team operates, and we document to the level your team needs to take it over. We also do knowledge-transfer sessions at handoff.
