Cisco Phone Systems & Unified Communications

Cisco Unified Communications Manager design, migration, and support — including the upgrades and cloud migrations most partners won't touch.

The problem

Cisco Call Manager is powerful and unforgiving. It runs for years without attention, then a certificate expires on a Saturday and the whole organization loses dial tone.

Meanwhile the platform is moving. Deciding between staying on-premises with CUCM, moving to Webex Calling, or running a hybrid is a real architectural decision with cost implications for years.

What's included

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) design and deployment
  • Migration from legacy PBX and version-to-version CUCM upgrades
  • Unity Connection voicemail and Cisco IM & Presence
  • SIP trunk design, carrier migration, and E911 compliance
  • Dial plan, call routing, hunt groups, and call center queues
  • Certificate lifecycle management — the leading cause of surprise outages
  • Webex Calling and hybrid cloud migration paths
  • Handset deployment, PoE planning, and voice QoS

How we work

Assess, design, implement, support

  1. 01

    Assess

We document what you actually have — not what the last as-built says you have.

  2. 02

    Design

A written design with the reasoning behind each decision, priced before work starts.

  3. 03

    Implement

Phased cutovers with rollback plans. No single high-risk night.

  4. 04

    Support

Documentation, knowledge transfer, and ongoing support at whatever level you need.

Phone Systems: common questions

Should we stay on Cisco Call Manager or move to the cloud?

It depends on how heavily you've customized call routing, whether you have contact center integrations, and your appetite for capital versus subscription cost. On-premises CUCM still wins for complex dial plans and sites with unreliable internet. We model both before recommending either.

Can you support an existing CUCM deployment we didn't install?

Yes. We regularly take over environments, and the first engagement is usually a health check: version support status, certificate expirations, backup validation, and dial plan documentation.

What happens when our CUCM version reaches end of support?

You lose security patches and TAC support, and eventually the certificates and codecs stop interoperating with current carriers and endpoints. Upgrades get harder the longer they're deferred, since multi-version jumps often require intermediate hops.
