Website Design & Development
Fast, search-friendly business websites — built so the SEO work is structural rather than something a plugin tries to fix later.
The problem
Most small business websites are built by someone who designs well and doesn't think about how search engines read the result. The site looks right, loads slowly, ships every word inside JavaScript, and never ranks.
We know this failure mode intimately, because our own previous site had it. It was a single-page app that served search engines an empty page — no headings, no copy, nothing to index. Rebuilding it is what produced the approach we now sell.
What's included
- Design and build on a modern, statically rendered stack
- Every page pre-rendered to real HTML — no content hidden behind JavaScript
- Page titles, meta descriptions, and canonical URLs set per page
- Structured data (Organization, LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ) built in
- Generated XML sitemap and robots.txt
- Core Web Vitals budget enforced in the build, not checked once at launch
- Accessibility to WCAG standards
- Analytics and conversion tracking configured before launch
- Content management for the pages you'll actually want to edit
- 301 redirect mapping from your existing site so rankings carry over
How we work
Measure, fix, build, report
Measure
Audit and baseline first. Without a starting number, nobody can tell whether the work did anything.
Fix
Technical problems first — crawlability, rendering, speed, redirects. Content on a broken site is wasted.
Build
Pages and articles targeting one keyword each, written from real expertise rather than spun.
Report
Monthly, against enquiries rather than impressions. If it isn't producing enquiries, we say so.
Website Design: common questions
How much does a business website cost?
It depends on four things: how many pages you need, how much of the content we write versus you supply, whether the design is custom or adapted from a system, and what has to integrate with it. A brochure site and a site with location pages, a blog, and a CRM integration are different projects. Quotes are free and we scope after a short conversation rather than pricing from a template.
Will I be able to update it myself?
Yes, for the content you'll realistically change — page copy, blog posts, team and service listings. We're honest that a fully editable page builder tends to degrade both performance and consistency over time, so we make the right things editable rather than everything.
What happens to our rankings when we launch a new site?
This is where redesigns most often go wrong. If URLs change without redirects, you lose the ranking history attached to them. We map every existing URL to its new destination before cutover and monitor Search Console afterward for anything we missed.
Do you host it?
We can, on our own infrastructure or a managed platform, and we'll also happily hand it to your existing host. Hosting is not a lock-in mechanism here.
